Melissa Steppe-Mattox, a proud native of Charlottesville, Virginia, is a dedicated advocate for youth empowerment and education. She earned her degree in social work from George Mason University and is currently advancing her expertise by pursuing a master’s degree in the same field.

After graduating in 2010, Melissa returned to Charlottesville and founded her youth consulting business, Steppe into Change, LLC. For over 10 years, she provided mentoring services to local youth through the Charlottesville-Albemarle County Department of Social Services. During this time, she also joined the City of Promise team as a pathway coach for 5th- to 8th-grade students.

Melissa treasures her time with her family, especially cheering on her children in their various extra-curricular activities. Her enthusiasm for rejoining the City of Promise team reflects her deep commitment to enriching and supporting the community she loves.
